Nathan is the Field Manager. His duties are to supervise and coordinate work efforts of the Survey Department and make hiring recommendations, review, organize and plan the field schedule to assure that surveys are completed on time, and implement department policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with the management team. Nathan trains employees on job duties, handling complex situations, company policies, and arranges for training to be provided. He is also responsible for verifying that the field crews are maintaining proper documentation such as field notes, data, time sheets, job records, and vehicle operation and maintenance records.
Nathan began surveying in 1998 at a engineering company, laying out subdivisions and apartment complexes from raw land to final paving, and became a Crew Chief within two years. In 2001 he joined DCA Surveying as an Instrument Man, and after a few years became Crew Chief in 2003. A couple of years later he moved to another company as a Crew Chief and gained experience ranging from title surveys, construction layout, and doing big acreage in East Texas. Then in 2008 he came back to DCA as a Crew Chief and worked on everything from builder work to metes and bounds. When CBG was founded, Nathan came on as a Crew Chief, until 2011 when he moved to South Texas and worked in Gas & Oil surveying for about six years. After two years in Gas and Oil surveying he was promoted from Senior Crew Chief to Field Coordinator. Nathan rejoined CBG in 2017 in the PLSM Department, and was promoted to Field Manager in 2018.
Acting as Field Manager for CBG occupies a lot of Nathan’s time, but when he’s not working you can find him at his daughters select league softball tournaments, cheerleading, or volleyball games. When she isn’t playing, his son also plays select league baseball and football. In his spare time, he and his wife are always together on the football, baseball or softball fields supporting their kids to thrive, compete, and be the best they can be, on and off the field.
